Emily Irene VanCamp was originally keen on becoming a professional dancer, but following a trip to her sister Katie's set for the show Ladies Room, she became more attracted to acting. The acting profession began after she enrolled in classes. Also, she got guest spots on shows from her home country of Canada. A few of the series she had starred in among other ones included: Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp experienced career breakthrough when he was cast as the main character Sam Dolan on the WB horror-themed mystery series Glory Days. Even though the show was receiving excellent reviews, it was cancelled after just nine episodes due to the low ratings. Actually, the 12th of May 1986-born actress was quick to secure another position on Everwood as a member of the principal actors Amy Abbott. She was a finalist for the award for four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
